NCC (AIR) AEROMODELLING INSTRUCTOR COURSE 22 – 24 June 2009 / PRE-COURSE TRAINING ON 6TH, 13TH AND 20TH JUNE 2009

Cadets Involved: LCP Yeo Kai Cheng and LCP Yap Duan Feng 1. The 3rd Aeromodelling Instructor Course is a 3 day 2 Night residential course and will be held from 22nd June 2009 to 24th June 2009. To further enhance the training of the cadets, they are to attend 3 Saturdays (6th, 13th & 20th June 2009) of Pre-course training. This is to ensure that the cadets are fully equipped in their knowledge of aviation and aeromodelling so as to ensure a higher chance of graduating from the course. Each Air unit will be required to send 2 Part B/Part C Cadets. AIM 2. The primary objective of this course is to train NCC (AIR) Part B cadets as Qualified Line Control instructors so that they will be able to carry out Control Line Flying in their respective Squadrons and also in HQ NCC. TRANSPORT 3. No transport will be provided for this course. Trainees and Instructors will have to make their own way to HQ NCC on the first day of the course. MEALS 4. Lunch is catered for all 3 days for the residential course; Dinner for the 1st and 2nd day while Breakfast and Night snack is catered for the 2nd and 3rd day only. Lunch will be catered for the 3 days of the Prep Training as it will stretch beyond 1200hrs. ORGANISATION 5. Participants: Each Squadron is expected to send a maximum of 2 cadets for the course. Cadets attending this course should fulfill the following prerequisites: 1) Part B cadets. 2) Able to fly Electric Line Control solo for 3 mins. 3) Have basic aviation understanding 4) Interest in aviation & aeromodelling If any of these prerequisites are not fulfilled, the cadets will be sent back. Please understand that these prerequisites are important as 6 days will not sufficient to train a new cadet who has no experience in Aeromodelling to be a full fledged Instructor. 6. Time and Venue: Cadets will be required to attend 3 Saturdays of pre-course training, the dates are 6th, 13th and 20th June 2009. They are to report to the Aeromodelling Centre in NCC Polo- T and Jeans/Pants. For the 3 days stay-in course, cadets will report in their No.3 uniform at 0800 hrs on the 22nd of June 2009 at Amoy Quee Camp, HQ NCC, BLK 245. Attendance for all days are compulsory. 7. The trainees will be accommodated in BLK 246. No one will be allowed to stay out unless approved by Commander Air. 8. Schedule: Refer to Annex A, Aeromodelling Instructor Course Training Programme. CRITERIA FOR AWARD OF AEROMODELLING INSTRUCTOR WING 9. Trainees must be minimum PART B cadets. 10. 100% Attendance during the Pre-course Training and the Aeromodelling Instructor Course. 11. Pass the following Written Tests (75% passing mark): a. Basic Aviation Knowledge b. Basic Control Line Flying Knowledge 12. Pass the following Oral Test: a. Safety & Maintenance Procedures/Practices 13. Pass the Flying practice according to the following requirements: a. Lap Hands On Instructor Flying for 3 minutes for a group of 3 trainees.(1 minute per trainee) b. Full Hands On Instructor Flying for 3 minutes for a single trainee ( Instruct from takeoff up to landing of the aircraft) 14. When the trainees have met these criteria, they will graduate from the course and will be presented with the Aeromodelling Instructors Wing.
