SPACE ACADEMY PROGRAMME EXPERIENCE
On the 21st November to 25th November, SSG Jeremy Lim, SSG Chua Jun Jie and I attended the Space Programme conducted by Space academy Singapore in partnership with TriVector. Professionals from NASA were our lecturers and we sure enjoyed it!
Lessons of rocket science deemed difficult to comprehend for us but nonetheless these lessons did help us understand more about our solar system. Life on Moon? Astronomers and engineers are looking at the possibility of mankind living on Moon and the day which this will come true is actually not far away! Not only the Moon, we are looking at further research in the red planet Mars.
The experience in SnowCity Singapore simulated the harsh coldness in space; and scuba diving at a Naval camp helped us understood what is it like to float around in 0 gravity. Practical lessons that included building your own mini rockets to launch was generally interesting! What that was really a once in a lifetime experience is flying quadracopters and driving unmanned vehicles with iPads and actually getting a telegraph from a satellite which was flying right above us!
The things we did were so many and so much fun that even words couldn’t quite explain it all! Experience it yourself! Satellites, the Moon, orbits and planets. Interested? Join the Space Programme next year, because we sure had fun!
