THE GLOBAL WALK FOR PEACE ON 21ST SEPTEMBER 2008
The Global Walk for Peace is organized by the World Veterans Federation through the SAF Veterans’ League for the Singapore chapter. The project hopes to raise awareness with the youths about the part they can play to contribute to peace in the world and to highlight the contributions of local and allied soldiers who laid down their lives in previous wars so that Singapore could remain free. The day also coincides with the United Nations International Day of Peace. As part of the NCC New Experience, this event will enhance the national education awareness of the participants. The symbolic walk for peace (approximately 2 KM) will take place in the vicinity of the Kranji War Memorial.
The participation of this event by the School Units will be recognized as contributions to NCC initiatives (BUC points will be awarded for participation).
