AIR COMPETITION 2010 ON 28 AUGUST 2010

HQ NCC (AIR) will be organizing the annual Air Competition. The competition will be held on Saturday, 28 August 2010, 0800 hrs. The competition is open to all NCC (Air) cadets who are trained in Radio Control flying (Maximum of 2 entries per squadron for each category). Upon participating, all NCC (Air) Units will be awarded points, which will be included in this year’s Best Unit Competition (40% participation 60% competition of each category). The competition will be held at the MOC Ground in HQ NCC, Amoy Quee Camp. All participants will report for registration by 0730hrs at the Multi Purpose Hall for the competition. The competition will start at 0830hrs sharp and is expected to end by approximately 1330hrs. All NCC (Air) Squadrons are to provide their own transport, if necessary, when reporting to NCC Campus. All participants must report in their No.4 uniform. They are to bring along a T-shirt, as they have to change into their half-uniform attire during the duration of the competition. Spectators are to be dressed in their No.3 Uniform. Late-comers coming after 0800hrs without a valid excuse will not be allowed to register for the competition. Participants’ belongings and stores brought along can be placed at the Multi-Purpose Hall as the Holding Area. However, participants must not leave their valuables unattended. HQ NCC will not be responsible for any loss of items. No meals, only refreshments will be provided. Participants will be dismissed by 1330hrs. COMPETITION SYSTEM Categories: 1) *Part A Chuck Glider Competition (15 BUC Points) 2) *Part B Spot Landing Competition (15 BUC Points) 3) *Part C Limbo Flying Competition (40 BUC Points) 4) ^Open Category Balloon Popping Competition * Schools are to send a minimum of 1 entry in these categories. Best Unit Competition Points allocation for the categories; 40% Attendance, 60% Performance (based on results). In the event that the Squadron sends in 2 entries, the better score will be taken into consideration for the BUC compilation. ^ No BUC points or bonus points will be given for participation in the open category. The competition is to promote friendly competition and enthusiasm among RC fliers from different Squadrons and different levels.

SENIOR SPECIALIST COURSE 2010

HQ NCC will be conducting the Senior Specialist Course from 7th - 9th Sep 10. The course duration is two and a half days. The aim of this course is to allow the Cadets to enhance their instructional abilities in organizing; conducting and executing some form of parades and ceremonies at their School Units. Upon completion, the Cadets will be appointed as Unit Drill Instructors in their respective school units where they will be able to impart the knowledge and skills acquired during the course to their juniors and subordinates. A pre-course briefing will be conducted prior to the course to allow the participants to prepare their mutual lessons for the course. Date: 25 August 1600hr OR 27 August 1600hr (reserved date) Participants who fail to attend the pre course briefing on any of the two dates indicated will not be permitted to attend the course. Time: 7 Sep, 1330 hr to 9th Sep 10, 1730 hr.

This is a residential two and a half days course. All meals will be catered and Cadets are reminded to consume their meals. Accommodations would be provided for the Cadets. If Cadets fail to turn up for the course without a valid reason, they will incur the costs of the rations that have been indented. ($35.66)

All Cadets come under the direct command of the Course Commander. Cadets are reminded that discipline is the order of the day. Any unruly behavior during the course would be dealt with seriously.

DRESS / PERSONNEL BELONGINGS Cadets are reminded to bring the following items when reporting for the course: a. Camouflage Uniform x 2 b. No 3 Uniform (for the girls and Sea Cadets, for graduation) c. Toiletries and slippers d. Writing Materials e. Student Pass for drawing of rifles f. Medicine (optional) g. Tights / Hair Nets – Girls h. Lesson plan on their mutual i. T-shirts and shorts j. Towel k. Padlock and key l. PT shoes Cadets are reminded NOT to bring along any valuables or expensive items during the course. HQ NCC would not be held responsible for any lost or stolen items during the course Participants are strictly not allowed to bring in any cameras, camera hand phones or media capturing devices when entering NCC Campus.

FAMILIARISATION FLIGHTS FOR PART A CADETS ON C130 AT PAYA LEBAR AIRBASE ON WEDNESDAY 08 SEPTEMBER 2010

The Familiarisation Flights (FEP) on board the C130 aircraft is organized yearly for the Part A cadets. The aim of this FEP is to create military awareness among the Air Cadets and enhance their air-mindedness by exposing them to activities in the Air Bases and giving them the experience of flying in our Air Force Transport Aircraft. The familiarisation flight is held on Wednesday 08 September 2010 at Paya Lebar Airbase. All cadets and accompanying specialists/officers will report to the POC, LTA Cheng Teck Loon, at Base Briefing Hall (via CP2 gate, next to PLAB medical centre), Paya Lebar Air Base on Wednesday 08 September 2010 at 1200 hours (in No. 3 Uniform with head gear). Attendance is compulsory. All consent forms must be duly completed and signed; those without will not be allowed to go for the FEP. Please be reminded that any cadets on nominal roll who failed to report for the FEP, will be required to hand in a written explanation. Cameras and computers/electronic devices with recording and photo-taking capabilities (eg. Palm Top, handphones with camera, Mp3, thumbdrive, PSP, etc) are NOT allowed to brought into the Air Base. The success of this Flying Experience Programme depends on every officer’s and cadet’s whole-hearted participation and support. Your cooperation is therefore sought to ensure the success of the FEP.
