MT OPHIR ADVENTURE PROGRAMME 10-12 NOV
CCHY NCC (Air) has been allocated 3 places for the MT OPHIR ADVENTURE PROGRAMME from 10 - 12 November. Interested Part C cadets, please see Mr Victor Tan by 18 Novemeber for application form.
The Mt Ophir Adventure Programme offers 3 Days & 2 Nights of adventure training. The NCC organizes Mt Ophir Adventure Programme for selected Part C cadets as part of the adventurous training provided to the cadets. It is also part of the incentive programme to reward deserving cadets, who have been outstanding in training. The purpose of the training is to provide them with interesting, challenging, educational, enjoyable and adventurous activities. It is also to expose cadets to a new environment and terrain in natural surroundings. The training will emphasize and focus on Leadership Training, Character Building and Adventure Training.
MEDICAL CHECK UP AND APPLICATION FORM
All participants are to go for medical check up on their own and to get the doctor to complete the Medical Examination Report and to submit to their respective DCs. The application form is attached in Annex B. Respective DCs are to ensure that the Medical Check-ups are completed.
PRE-REQUISITE : TO PASS NAPFA
To ensure that participants have a certain level of fitness to climb Mt. Ophir, all applicants must submit their current NAPFA result with their application forms to their respective District Commanders. It is a pre-requisite for all participants to pass the NAPFA test before they can embark on this trip.
All participating Cadets are to co-pay a fixed rate of $30 (non-refundable) payable to Vendor for the programme. However the NCC Teacher-Officers will be fully subsidized. All District Commanders are to collect the payment by cheque or cashier order payable to Vendor – name to be made known at a later date to DCs and District CSOs. All participants must be aware that if they fail to attend the training, they must pay in full for all costs incurred by National Cadet Corps.

0700 hrs Assemble at NCC HQ
0710 hrs Depart for Johor Immigration via 2nd Link
0800 hrs Proceed to Gunung Ledang Resort, stopover at Yong Peng
for a short break
1145 hrs Arrive & Lunch at Gunung Ledang Resort
1245 hrs Distrbution of rooms and check in.
1330 hrs Briefing on outdoor activities; ice breaking session
1400 hrs Outdoor activities –Flying Fox; Jungle obstacle challenge.
1700 hrs Freshen up and rest.
1900 hrs Dinner time.
2000 hrs Debrief on the outdoor experiences; identifying team issues;
action plans; briefing on next day’s trekking activities and
distribution of food and camping equipments.
2200 hrs Lights Off; Good Night.
Day 2
0630 hrs Rise and shine
0700 hrs Breakfast
0730 hrs Transfer by bus to National Park trail.
0800 hrs Warm up and stretching exercise
0830 hrs Begin the day full of excitement trekking to summit of
Mt Ophir.
1030 hrs Arrive at CP 3; short rest.
1100 hrs Begin trekking to summit via PENDITA trail.
1300 hrs Arrive at Majapahit check point, rest and have packed lunch.
1330 hrs Continue trekking to summit.
1430 hrs Arrive at summit – enjoy "Top of the World " feeling; photo
taking session.
1500 hrs Begin to descend to campsite via Telecom trails
1730 hrs Arrive at campsite – National Park Guard Post (1000 ft.asl )
set up tents, wash up and rest.
1900 hrs Dinner time, enjoy dinner amidst the tropical rainforest and
scenic Ledang Reservoir view.
2000 hrs Free and easy
2200 hrs Lights off; sweet dream.
Day 3
0700 hrs Rise and Shine
0800 hrs Breakfast
0830 hrs Begin trekking down to foothill
1000 hrs Arrive at the estate pick up point, transfer by bus to the resort
1030 hrs Arrive at the resort; wash up and rest
1200 hrs Enjoy a well deserving lunch at the resort
1300 hrs Debrief and certificate presentation
1330 hrs Depart for home.
1730 hrs Arrive in Singapore, drop off at Yio Chu Kang MRT/ NCC HQ.
